Studio Finotti architecture photography archive was created to organize and share a documentary collection of over 150,000 images. After decades of uninterrupted work, the archive is so vast that it often ends up obscuring the nuances. This space exists to structure that visual heritage and offer the architectural community and researchers direct access to curated editions.
This archive asserts the value of the situated gaze. Each series is the result of a shared craft: the projected matter of architecture, the eye of the photographer measuring light with his body on site, and a human editorial curatorship that distills this massive repository into a real synthesis.
Rather than presenting isolated images, we build visual essays that generate new readings. Each dossier is structured around iconic works that serve as anchors, accompanied by alternative shots and tectonic details that tend to get lost in the general archive. Acquiring a piece supports the preservation of the collection.
This editorial commitment takes the form of a steady pulse: each month, the archive releases a new visual essay composed of twelve selected works. On a yearly rotation, each edition remains available for exactly twelve months before returning to the permanent vault. This cycle of opening and withdrawal allows the vastness of the archive to be broken down into manageable narrative units.
